The name Havilah is from Genesis in the bible …(Chapter 2 Verse 10) A river from the land of Eden flowed through the garden to water it; afterwards the river divided into four branches. (11) One of these was named the Pishon; it winds across the entire length of the land of Havilah, (12) where nuggets of pure gold are found, also beautiful bdellium and even lapis lazuli...

 In 2007, Bill McCallum was working for Newmont Technical Services in Newmont's office in Adelaide, South Australia, when Newmont announced the closure of this office. He accepted a redundancy package and formed Havilah Consulting Pty Ltd.

 Bill McCallum has several qualifications:

• Bachelor of Applied Science (Metallurgy); Bendigo College of Advanced Education, 1981.
• Master of Business Administration,; Deakin University, 1994.
• Fellow of the Australasian Institute of  Mining and Metallurgy (FAusIMM).
• Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).

Bill has worked on sites (operations and  management), projects and corporate activities with most of this work being associated with  comminution, gold recovery and base metal (copper, lead, zinc and antimony) concentrate production. 

Over recent years Bill has conducted multiple Metal Accounting Audits and has developed significant expertise in this area. 

 Bill also has extensive international experience having worked in Laos, Malaysia, Indonesia, New Zealand, Turkey, Papua New Guinea and Senegal.
